Summary of Session: Available tests for the diagnosis of Clostridium difficile infection will be reviewed and evaluated. The sensitivity, specificity and predictive values of assays will be presented and their utility will be discussed in terms of costs, ease of use, resources required and commercial availability.

Objectives: Upon completion of this Teleconference, participants should be able to:Discuss the accuracy, efficiency, and utility of laboratory test for the diagnosis of C. difficile

Intended Audience: Laboratory directors, supervisors and bench technologists, Division C.
