Summary of Session: This teleconference will focus on new vaccines and CDC recommendations for their use. The safety, efficacy, and importance of vaccines will be explained especially for those working in a clinical microbiology lab.

Objectives: Upon completion of this Teleconference, participants should be able to:

  • List where new vaccine recommendations fit into the latest CDC administration schedules for adults, adolescents and children;
  • Evaluate the safety and efficacy of new vaccines; and
  • Explain the importance of vaccines.

Intended Audience: Those working in clinical microbiology, infectious diseases, and infectious control.
