Objectives: Upon completion of this Teleconference, participants should be able to: - Describe the characteristics of a norovirus outbreak;
- Identify available diagnostic methods and their pitfalls;
- Describe the relationship between viral properties and epidemiology of noroviruses;
- Discuss the most important modes of transmission and ways to control these; and
- Discuss the clinical and economical impact of norovirus infections in different patient groups.
Intended Audience: Clinical microbiologists and virologists, epidemiologists, infection control and hygienists, clinicians interested in nosocomial infections.
